Effectively managing your team and your own goals remotely is a very different challenge than doing so in an office environment. Danielle shares the lessons she learned while founding several remote companies, working in the startup scene for close to a decade, and now working as Senior Director of Growth for the biggest remote company in the world.

In this episode, we are joined by Danielle Morrill, a former YC graduate and now Senior Director of Growth Marketing at GitLab. With her, we are exploring the difficulties of managing your own schedule and your remote team effectively.
Topics discussed:

  • Avoiding the two pitfalls of procrastination and overworking remotely.
  • Establishing an environment of trust when managing a remote team.
  • Effective scheduling.
  • Avoiding burnout as a founder.
If you are a remote founder, employee or managing a remote team, this episode offers advice for finding the right work-life balance, and effectively communicating with your team members remotely. Danielle shares the lessons she learned on how to avoid common pitfalls and tackle challenges while working and managing remotely.
Stay tuned for the next episode, in which we will be joined by Steph Smith — Head of the Hustle’s Trends.co and rising remote work evangelist. He'll explain the process of identifying and leveraging trends as a remote company as well as meaningful trends in the realm of remote work itself.
